“What’s happened to us?” someone asked a few days ago. “What happened to the days when we worked for what we got? When we took pride in achieving, in creating, in accomplishing – in work? What happened to the days when we accepted ‘charity’ from our neighbors only when we had suffered some catastrophe – when our home was destroyed by a storm or our business burned down?” they wondered aloud.
“We take what we’re given because we’re entitled,” another answered. “We’ve been taught that we are owed, and we have an ever-expanding list of ‘essentials’ to which we have a right, first food and now cell phones,” explained the answerer.
